  It takes a lot of willpower and strength to be able to survive the long and horrid journey when entering the United States from the Southern border. When Nazario describes the treacherous journey, I felt almost as if I was experiencing it myself, although I'll probably never truly understand what she had to endure.

     The journey is especially treacherous for a woman, who is very likely to be sexually assaulted or raped along the way.

Questions
1.)Why is the illegal immigration rate from the southern border so much higher than the northern border?
2.) It also gives us insight into the real dangers of immigration and how a family could be severed. Sometimes this may be temporary, but most times it's permanent. Finally, entering into a new country isn't easy. Adapting to a new lifestyle takes time. If my Mom or Dad left me and my sibling and went to another country I don't know if I would be able to forgive them because I will rather be struggling and poor together that live without my parents for over a decade.

The way it portrayed immigration in its true light really spoke to me, and it made anyone who disapproved of immigrants coming in look heartless and inconsiderate. 

     When Enrique started to turn to drugs and struggled with all those issues, it just made me wonder why anyone would have anything against letting these poor, impoverished souls into the U.S. who are seeking better lives. It gave me a more of a warm-hearted view of immigration. 

What made me feel bad for Enrique is that it took him 8 times before he could make it in the country and he faced tons of difficult, life threatening situations. Despite all of this, he still had the courage to travel abroad to a new territory despite all of the tribulations he had faced. I thought it was amazing how someone so young went on their own out into the world not knowing what could happen to him. He showed his maturity  level and that he had to grow up if he was going to  be on his own with no family to help him.

I felt bad and worried when he started to use drugs because i thought that would mess him up and he wouldn't be good anymore.
