At the beginning of the 19th century women were simply considered to go about the cult of domesticity where they took care of the children and worked around the house (sewing, cooking or cleaning). They had barely, if any, jobs available to them.
As time progressed, though, many women, and some very few men, protested for women's rights.
Seneca Falls is where the first convention for women's rights took place, and, as time passed, more and more meetings took place and women gathered more female supporters in the movement.

There was a disputed border between Texas and Mexico. Texas said that its border extended to the Rio Grande, but Mexico insisted that its border was drawn on the Nueces River 100 miles Northeast. President Polk sent a blockade to the Rio Grande, as well as an exploration party through Alta California. Mexico had had enough and decided to send troops over the Rio Grande. There was a small skirmish, and Polk immediately called for war.
-Tyler Gruhlke

The War ended in a victory for America. In the following Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, Mexico agreed to the Rio Grande border of Texas, as well as seceding modern-day California, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, most of Arizona, and parts of Colorado and Wyoming to the US for $15 million. Five years later, President Franklin Pierce authorized the Gadsen Purchase, buying territory along the south of the Gila River for $10 million. This established the current border of the lower 48 states.
-Tyler Gruhlke

Polk was the President of the United States at the time of the Mexican American war. He had an expansion-oriented mindset, and believed in manifest destiny (the belief that it was both right and just that the U.S. should spread throughout the American continents). He hoped to provoke war with Mexico and gain it's territory by making aggressive moves over the disputed border. He was successful, expanding the territory of the U.S. by one third.

America Continued westward by relocating the large number of settlers on the east coast to the west. an example of this is that in the years 1800-1810 Ohio's population grew more than 5 times over. this migration physically happened through the Cumberland gap a natural gap in the appalachians. The expansion was socially fueled by the louisiana purchase, this was when America Purchased Much of the west from france, the issue with this is that it was not necessarily constitutional. but it was determined necessary.
