Emphasis on foundational skills at primary level (literacy /numeracy) is still priority #1 despite the changes; exciting to into big ideas but still need to realize importance of core competencies ( eg.phonemic awareness)

Re. the Aboriginal content...the question of validity and honour . Challenge to teach Aboriginal culture when teacher is non-Aboriginal ; can we do it justice? Perhaps more PD ops that help teachers feel more comfortable and confident infusing Aboriginal content into instruction.

I wonder how this will be rolled out. Will it be in stages, all at once?

I like the fact that there is more room for inquiry, but don't know how a new teacher or one with little background would know how deep to go in a specific area.

I can see that what might happen is a new textbook will come out and many teachers will just end up basing their course on the textbook.

her language classes. It's free. Can be used for both a

conversation with other 'world' language teachers and
