He/She becomes discouraged because other than getting the poll responses, he/she cannot understand students’ learning and thought processes. Also he/she noticed that fewer and fewer students respond to the poll questions at the end of the lectures. In fact some students ask whether their responses will earn them assessment points. It also seems that group members depend very much on their leader to do the work.
