One thing that I noticed about their advice was to stop and take the time to see how students are doing and observe what might be going on with them. It can help you get a better understanding of what students might need.

The strategy that I heard most often was to watch the students the moment they walk into the door because those behaviors and issues that happen all the time can change how you might teach and assess that student.

The part that I liked was one of the last ladies who said to have assessment boxes and tools ready to go so you can make it fast and easy for those younger students.

The one that I connected to the most was the kindergarten teacher (Sorry can't remember her name). She shared some good insight on how the kindergarten room and her teaching style worked and that helped me get a good understanding of some things that I will have to do if I become a kindergarten teacher like I hope to do.

What shocked me the most was how they all said to stop and take a breath because assessments aren't as scary as most new teachers feel. Take a deep breath and learn without being scared.

k

How can I ensure that my students understand the assessments that we do? What are some ways to help students who are less interested in working on their needs?
