A response about the length of time it takes the federal govt to approve projects. I would say the science advisory cmtes for particular fed health agencies aren't so much as "inefficient" as they are often labeled, but understaffed because of a general lack of attention and interest in science. I'd say that if people feel that it takes awhile to understand these processes in the past (and to get approval), it's only going to get worse in the future with the reduction in funding for NIH, NSF, etc. So, again, fed govt in past may have taken awhile to get results, but I believe that's more a function of staffing than inefficiencies. And staffing under this current administration will be significantly reduced which will reduce our understanding of these impacts.

People in the Valley want results, and solutions to the problem.

If you are going to do these testing's on problems that the locals and groups of the Valley has known about for over 10+ years now, with the exposure of the playa, and get some idea of what chemicals and metals are going to effect the people in areas around the Salton Sea, but what will be the solution with the findings? Will it be to wear a Mask if you live 20 miles from the sea?

I don't feel some one telling us that there is these issues with what's going to blow into these communities is dangerous to our health is any different than what we know already.

We need solutions to the receding water, evaporation rate, and then we can eliminate worrying about what's in the Playa. Spending money on this instead of information on what's going to kill us faster would be money better spent at this time.

Good ideas about controlling what goes into the Sea at this point, and how we get better & more water to flow into the sea, would be more productive.
