So much so that Anita McLemore, a Mississippi mother of two, is spending 3 years in prison because she lied on her food stamp application. Another important thing is how institutionalized food inequality is. When a US federal judge looked at McLemore's case, he decided to sentence her to three years in prison instead of seeing how much help she needed. This case shows how much the US does not care about its criminals. For example, I believe that more government spending should be diverted to welfare programs that provide food, which leans towards a more liberal view. In addition, I do not trust the free market to solve this issue because their motive is to make money, not to build a more equitable and equal society. This reflects a more liberal view. However, I believe that gun control has gone too far in how restrictive it is, which reflects a conservative view. Since we all grew up in poor to middle class neighborhood, we were all aware of how conservative policies kept people down. The 2007 recession hit some of us hard, leading us to find Wall Street and conservative economic institutions distasteful. Instead, it has been the internet and my friends. What is interesting about the internet is that you are exposed to every single spectrum of political ideologies, from the farthest left to the farthest right and everything in between. By being exposed to so much, I was able to apply my understanding of politics during my education and pick and choose what I personally believed in. While I am leaning liberal, every time I take a political test, I get a different answer every time based on how the questions are asked. This goes to show how categorizing political ideology into liberal and conservative is debilitating to the US. This can be seen from posts 1-4, where I answer the questions based on the political spectrum and my problem of practice, to posts 5 and 3, where I outright state that I have beliefs from other ideologies. In the end, just as the image in Post #5 states, I believe that a monarchy conducted with infinite wisdom and infinite benevolence is the most perfect of all possible governments.
