    2 - People in Mesopotamia lived in homes that were made from mud bricks. They were square shaped and either had 2 or 3 levels. The roofs were flat and during the summer, they would sleep on the roofs. The mud brick house helped keep the house cooler during hot summers.

    3 - The goods people in Mesopotamia produced were food, clothing, jewelry, wine and traded them between cities.

    2.   In 1750 BCE, the Babylonian king Hammurabi created a detailed system of 282 laws called the Code of Hammurabi. There were brutal punishments if these laws were broken. 

    3. Then there was an assembly of wise men, elected by the people, who could overrule the king and say, this is not a good law, get rid of it; or the assembly might say we don't want to go to war, so stop it. Each city-state had its own king and its own assembly. Government was quite different, however, in ancient Assyria.
