Which commandment do you think students violate the most? Why?

I think that students often violate commandment 8 the most. I think this occurs either intentionally or non-intentionally. For example, many students today use chatgpt for essays, discussion boards and so on (intentionally). Whether it be the student procrastinated and now they need to get this assignment in or if it just seemed easier to pull from other sources or have another source write their assignment for them. Then other times maybe there was a citation error or a student did not even think to add the citation but used almost exactly what another author has published (non-intentionally).

What do you think could be done to eliminate/limit such unethical behavior?

I think that there are already precautions in place such as AI detecting software that helps distinguish between an individual's real work and what chatgpt spit out for them. Other ways that can diminish or eliminate this behavior could include having certain websites blocked from school laptops, providing guidance on formatting and what needs to be cited, versus what does not need to be cited. Having personalized questions that are more opinion based, which require less if any citations and chatgpt cannot necessarily write a human experience or opinion. Having those questions also makes it less stressful on students who do procrastinate or have large work loads because it is based on their opinion and knowledge rather than research.
