In general, would your family be classified as formal or informal?

I would say my family is considered normal. We have set rules that we have always followed. I have 5 brothers and sisters and we all respect each other and love spending time together. We always have family dinner together and make sure to support one another at different events. We were taught to respect elders and treat everyone kindly and amongst ourselves we like to tease each other.

What was the attitude toward the elderly?

We were always taught to respect the elderly. We didn't really have set rules for how to interact with them or what to say to them but we just were told to be nice to them. Listen to their stories and find ways to help them if they need. I feel like we always respected them for the knowledge and experience they have. I actually work with a lot of the elderly population now and it is so fun.

Was conflict dealt with in a direct or indirect manner?

I feel like occasionally conflict will spill out into the whole family and everyone gets involved in an argument which can be scary. Most of the time when we have conflict with one another we just address it with that person. I honestly never really had conflict with any of my family members other than my older brother and we would always just fight physically to get over it. So I would say it was dealt in a direct manner.

Who made the major decisions in your family? Mother?Father? Both? Other family members?

My mother made most of the major decisions in the family. She would ask for everyones opinion and get ideas for things but really when it comes down to it she has the final say. My dad also has helped a lot when it comes to major decisions but he also usually leaves it up to our mom to decide what is best.
