Basically, it relates the life of Elizabeth II. From her younger age to her recent death, we are brought into her story and the one of her family. I like the fact that all the good, but also the bad aspects of her life are exposed. Before watching it, I have dreamt of becoming a queen once I will be an adult. Unfortunately, I'm born in a family from Valais, and my father is not a king. In other world, I've become an adult and I'm still not the queen. Obviously, I will never be. As I was saying before taking about my life, I discovered a lot of bad sides of being in the royal family in this series. For example, they do not have the choice to work on what they like, but have the duty to serve the country. Besides, they have to take care of their image and support the media pressure. In other words, they can't be entirely themselves, but do always hide behind their smile. The story takes place in the then futuristic world in 1984, where the planet is divided in three totalitarian superstates. Winston, citizen of Oceania, works for the outer Party. The Party, called Ingsoc (for English socialism) has total control of the state and its citizens. The book tells the story of Winston, his work, his rebellion and his demise. 

The three parts of the book, although clearly distinguisable, are well integrated with each other as to keep a feeling of continuity. The first part is a depiction of the daily life of Winston and his contemporaries. This is where the reader learns what kind of society Oceania is and what standards of living its citizens have. The second part focuses on Winston's illegal affair with Julia and their silent rebellion against the system. The third part starts after the couple is caught by the Though Police and depicts the process through which the dissidents must go. 

Although very bleak, the universe Orwell has created is passionating. His reflections regarding language, its influence over its speakers and its possible manipulation makes us reflect on our own practices. The constant paranoia induced by the Thought Police transcends Winston and the story to the point where the reader himself starts feeling observed. The tragic relashionship between Winston and Julia not only serves the progression of the story but also carries information on the functioning of Oceania's society. 

There is a reason why the book is considered a classic. The dreadful world Orwell has created forces the reader to ask the question: what if? What if the totalitarian states of the twentieth century were just the beginning?

Overall, the text isn't too hard to understand. The dialogues come up regularly and contrast with more desciptive sections. This serie counts, on this day, five season of ten episodes which could seems a lot but, even if the rythm is quite slow, this show is gripping, the decorations and the dialogue are beautiful.  
To sum up, the show starts by the end of King George’s, Elizabeth’s father, reign and goes through the Elisabeth’s one. The multiple seasons give the opportunity to learn about a lot of historic events that have occured during the 20th century. 
A scene that is particularly beautiful is the one when Elizabeth understands that her father is dead and that she has to succeed to the throne as she’s still young. The focus on her face enables to read a lot of expression and feelings in her eyes. 
Sadly, it has been announced that the fifth season could be the last one due to the fact that the recents events are way more touchy as the older ones. Anyway, this serie is still a masterpiece and is a « must-seen ».

From the first few seconds of the film, the mood seems to be dystopic, the air is polluted, mountains of garbage extend over and over, and only a little robot called Wall-E is moving across this obstructed and ruined landscape. The plot will be determined when a white and technological robot called Eve made its arrival in order to find a plant. Wall-E will fall in love with Eve and they will try to save the world left as giant garbage by humans. However, humans are now living in space because of the high amount of pollution that made it impossible to live on earth. This film is well-realized, the drawings are good and the story is touching. It is touching and stylish. Starring Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp. Times of events not really important but it feels like 50-s.
At the early morning strange couple of mum and daughter is coming to the little mediaeval slipping city. They are wearing red hoods and caring a lot of things. You can feel some presence of magic straight from the beginning. They are settling down at the city and opening small chop of custom made chocolate. Meanwhile its very beginning of the feast time and all inhabitants are trying to fallow the word of the priest and mere. And avoiding going to the shop. 

This setting gives us impression of confrontation between two worlds, mentality, life visions. Boring, sad, gray, miserable, strict, squared world of strict mere and joyful, bright, emotional, passion, spiritual and human - friendly world of chocolate shop lady. After intense and interesting chain of events we realised that none of characters is the same as he was at the beginning and that love will always win.
The absolute outstanding music that is playing important part in movie deserves to be noticed separately. So I really recommend you to watch this beautiful movie “Chocolate”

Through all the book she shares with us the pain of assisting her sick daughter Paula who suffers of porphyria. Quickly at the beginning of the book Paula falls into a deep coma from which she would never woke up again. However, the narration is not lineal and the reading takes us far away in the past at the time of the Chile's Republic and then the dark years of the military coup d'état and the military dictatorship. Allende shares with precisely words the consequences of this dictatorship particularly on members of the left wing organisation and parties, such as communists or trade unionists. As a member of the Allende family (Salvador Allende was the socialist president at the time of the coup d'état) she describes how they had to escape the country to survive. Atticus, a lawyer in a small county of Alabama is facing a tough situation: he is in charge of the defense of Tom Robinson, an african American accused of 🤬 of a white girl. Indeed, Atticus’ children are not only experiencing difficulties at school, where all classmates show great contempt, but also in the village, where the fact of taking such positions seems to be extremely bad regarded. The novel is very interesting since it allows us to follow up the various challenges the lawyer’s kids have to overcome, from their own innocent perspective, especially during the trial. Moreover, the style is quite easy and we learn much about the social environment in the thirties in this southern state of the U.S., as well as the history related to it. It talks about Liesel, a little girl who is taken to a new home because her mother couldn’t take care of her anymore. Basically, it was at the start of World War Two, in Nazi Germany. On her way to her her new home, she found a book named « The Gravedigger's Handbook ». She stole her first book when her brother died.
Besides, the book reminded her of her brother’s death, it was her last link with him. Liesel and her father set themselves a challenge to read the book.
This movie learns us more about World War Two, it makes you realise that there were so many victims in the war. On the whole, many people at that time went through a sad story like Liesel’s. I really enjoyed this movie and I recommend it.

On the hole, it tells the story of a young Japanese girl, Chiyo Sakamoto, who is sold in 1929 by her impoverished family to a geisha house (okiya) to become a geisha under the pseudonym "Sayuri Nitta". At first, the girl is very homesick, she wants to run away. One day, while crying on a riverbank, Chiyo encounters Chairman Ken Iwamura. He buys her an ice-cream and gives her his handkerchief and some money to cheer her up. It’s a very beautiful and extremely important scene for a plot development: touched by his kindness, Chiyo resolves to become a geisha so that she might become a part of the Chairman's life. The film develops the theme of challenges posed by the World War-II and of an attitude of a modernizing world to geisha society.

Obviously, watching this movie you can get a real idea of life in Japan during this period. Amazing Japanese music, scenery, costumes, talented actors… All this makes the film very atmospheric and spectacular.

It was written by David Lynch and diffused in the 90's. Twin Peaks is a little city, located at the border between Canada and the United States. This small town is the scene of the murder of a young woman : Laura Palmer. An federal agent from FBI (Dale Cooper) is called to investigate on the murder.
Basically, the tv show is about the resolution of the murder by the agent Cooper. However, what makes the serie really interesting is something else. With a very simple plot ("who killed Laura Palmer ?"), Lynch achieves immerging the viewer in an atmosphere of mystery and tension. The characters are well built, engaging and memorable, the music really supports and ponctuates perfectly the action on the screen.
This TV Show illustrates Lynch's taste for mystery, unanswered questions, the blur between dream and reality, bordering on the supernatural. 
From season 2, the serie is unfortunately less qualitative. David Lynch was forced to reveal the identity of the murderer and lost interest in his serie. Nevertheless, I would recommend this serie, at least for the first season which is, in my opinion, memorable. Firstly published in 1983, it tells the story of the Creed family (the two parents Louis and Eileen, their two children and the cat), who recently moved to their new place in the little town of Ludlow. There, Louis meets Jud, the sympathetic old neighbour who takes him to a visiting tour of the area. In the forest that board the Creed family's back yard, there is a curious little graveyard where the children of the previous years used to bury their pets, as the misspelled 'Pet Sematary' reads on the entrance. Here, Jud tells Louis the mysterious legend that surrounds the place...
Tragically, the family's cat passes away after being ran over by a car and Louis tries to do his best to hide the evidence to the children. He asks the help of Jud, and the old man tells him to bury the cat in the pet cemetery. The day after, miraculously, the cat comes back, but the family begins to endure other-worldly experiences......

Stephen King's writing's skills are over the top with this chilling story. The way he manages to depicts the tension that slowly comes to a climax of terror and anguish is absolutely brilliant! It is the first time I was freaked out just by reading something!
