Despite my shallow knowledge of US politics, I believe that it is safe to say Trump’s economic policies are contradictory and there’s only a slim chance that he doesn’t realize it. For example, he claims to bring down prices in the US but imposes tariffs on most countries and kicks out illegal immigrants which may force consumers to buy more expensive US alternatives and drive up production cost.

Except from urging production to move to the US, what economical benefits are there for trump’s actions to his nation’s economy? Other than that, what actions can individuals take to benefit financially from the US’s policies?

2. 關於現今有許多人說Ai會取替我們工作，許多相關工作逐漸消失，人們因而失業。就您及言，我也明白到原來不需過度擔心。雖然無法確定哪些新興企業將崛起，但市場的自我調整能力將有效利用閒置資源。

與其說Ai「替代」，我認為「輔助」這二字更貼切。使用Ai能從中學習，比起被其取代，更多的是能夠提高我們的效率。

Hi Professor Ng, thank you for sharing with us. About the discussion we had that day, I would like to ask a question. Do you believe that Donald Trump really sees the tariff as a long term way to improve the financial condition of the US government and to help domestic factories? Or is it only a short-term ‘shake the box’ policy (as you have mentioned) that aims to create some talks between the US and other countries? If a ‘tariff war’ really goes on, is it necessarily worse off for every country in the world because they earn would less from exports? Or is it possible that some countries can actually profit from this messy situation.

Dear Professor,

Thanks for spending your time to read our questions. I have seen news reports saying that the HK government is facing a deficit in recent years. Therefore, they are selling bonds to the public and raising taxes to narrow the deficit. Is there any better way to tackle the problem? Or do you even think that government having a deficit itself is a problem? I saw on the internet that many large countries have government deficit.

Dear professor Ng, thanks again for answering our questions. I'd like to ask about the economic structure in Hong Kong and the other places. For instance, the economic structure of European countries are often free market, while China is a planned economy. But why is Hong Kong 's a 'mixed economy '? Is this also an outstanding advantage for Hong Kong to be the international Financial Centre? Thank you
