"Working hard for the rights and recognition of Indigenous Peoples". We want to protect our people, rights, and sacred lands. We strive to build and organize the participation of our Indigenous Peoples in both local and national events to protect our survival. Our symbol, sacred pipe, was chosen by the IITC elders to represent common bonds of spirituality, land and respect for our traditional culture.

We have lots of supporters who agree with our beliefs to protect the environment and keep it as pure and safe as possible for our Indigenous Peoples. On the other hand, there are also people who do not agree with our committee, such as people that work for the oil companies. They want to build the Dakota Access pipeline through our sacred lands, which can lead to contaminated water and crops. We want to not only teach the Indigenous peoples about our problems and what we fight for, but to also educate the public so they know what is actually going on and how this can affect us as an organization.

We believe that the pipeline should not be dug at all, we do not want it near our tribes and especially we do not want it near our sacred tribal lands. The pipeline could burst and contaminate our water and crops, leaving us with no clean food or water. We are protesting today on foot and horseback with signs and flags showing our awareness of this issue.
