The 7 habits experience and the LIM program has helped me become a leader and shone a light to guide me across this journey.

Here are the habits and their help that they have provided me:

Habit 1: Be Proactive

Being Proactive is a good practice that helped me complete tasks without many reminders. It has also taught me to use proactive language instead of the negativity of the language used by the reactive.

Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind

Having an end in mind gives guidance on how to complete a specific task with a complete blueprint printed in your mind. I used this to plan out my studies for the upcoming exams.

Habit 3: Put First Things First

This habit was the most important during exams as it provided numerous ways to prioritize my tasks. Focusing on big rocks rather than small rocks was a good practice.

Habit 4: Think Win-Win

Having a mindset that contains an 'everyone can win' situation helped me become more of a team player.

Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood

Listening before speaking is a crucial part of life and can help us tune into the important statements that people have to say to us. It helped me get more clarity on the topics going on in classes.

Habit 6: Synergize

Synergy is a very important aspect. As they say, teamwork makes the dream work! It helped me to be more of a team player and contribute towards a bigger task that is being done as a team.

Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw

Sharpening the saw doesn't literally mean sharpening an actual saw, it just means to perfect your skills that you have acquired and maintain them. I have used this habit to put my skills and everything else into a constant balance like a 4-legged chair.

This experience has been a wonderful one that helped me, in the end, become a better person.

The "7 Habits" helped me become a better person. Habit 1, being proactive, taught me to stop waiting for things to happen and take action. Habit 3, putting first things first, helped me organize my time better, especially during big tests. Habit 4, thinking win-win, helped me get along better with friends because I learned to share and listen more. Once, during a group project, I used Habit 6 (synergy) and we worked really well together to get an A! I think every student should learn these habits because they help you stay organized, work with others, and be more responsible.

The "Leader in Me" habits have been incredibly influential in shaping how I approach both my personal and professional life. By practicing each habit, I've developed essential skills that have allowed me to grow in responsibility, leadership, and productivity. Here’s a breakdown of how each habit has helped me:

1. Be Proactive:
This habit has had a significant impact on my mindset. It taught me to take control of my actions and decisions, rather than simply reacting to external circumstances. Being proactive has empowered me to focus on what I can change and let go of things outside my control. This shift has made me more resilient, allowing me to face challenges with a sense of agency and confidence.

2. Begin with the End in Mind:
By setting clear goals and envisioning the future, this habit has helped me stay focused and driven. I now approach every task with the end result in mind, which allows me to prioritize my actions and avoid unnecessary distractions. This habit encourages me to think long-term and work towards achieving my broader vision, making my daily decisions more aligned with my overall purpose.

3. Put First Things First:
This habit has taught me how to manage my time effectively. It encourages me to focus on what is most important rather than what is urgent. By identifying my priorities and organizing my day around them, I’ve become more productive and less overwhelmed by less meaningful tasks. This habit has helped me find balance in my work and personal life, ensuring that my most valuable goals come first.

4. Think Win-Win:
Adopting a win-win mindset has greatly improved my interactions with others. I’ve learned to seek mutually beneficial outcomes, whether in personal relationships or professional collaborations. By focusing on the success of both parties, I’ve been able to build stronger, more positive relationships and create an environment where everyone feels valued and respected.

5. Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood:
This habit has improved my communication skills. I’ve learned the importance of truly listening to others before expressing my own thoughts. By empathizing with their perspectives, I’ve been able to have more meaningful and productive conversations. This habit has not only strengthened my relationships but has also helped me approach conflicts with greater understanding and patience.

6. Synergize:
Working with others has become more enjoyable and effective since adopting this habit. I’ve learned that collaboration often leads to better outcomes than individual efforts. Embracing the strengths and perspectives of others has allowed me to approach challenges more creatively, and I’ve been able to achieve things I couldn’t have done on my own. This habit has fostered teamwork and mutual respect in both personal and professional settings.

7. Sharpen the Saw:
This habit emphasizes the importance of self-care and continuous improvement. I’ve come to realize that taking time for physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual renewal is essential for long-term success. By investing in myself, whether through exercise, learning, or reflection, I’ve been able to stay energized and focused. This habit ensures that I maintain balance and resilience, allowing me to perform at my best over time.

Overall, the "Leader in Me" habits have transformed the way I approach life. They have given me tools to be more proactive, organized, and effective, while also helping me foster better relationships and work towards meaningful goals. These habits continue to guide me as I strive to be the best version of myself.

LIM which stands for “Leader In Me” It aims to instill leadership, responsibility, and essential life skills in students by integrating these principles into their daily school activities and culture. The 7 habits included in the program are:

1. Be Proactive:

This habit emphasizes taking responsibility for your actions and choices instead of blaming circumstances or others. Being proactive means understanding that you are in control of your life, and your decisions shape your outcomes. It encourages us to focus on their Circle of Influence—things they can control—and respond thoughtfully rather than react emotionally to situations.

2. Begin with the End in Mind:

This habit is about setting clear goals and creating a vision for the future. It teaches us to plan with a purpose and keep their long-term objectives in mind when making decisions. By understanding what they want to achieve, they can align their daily actions to move toward those goals. This habit fosters a sense of direction and purpose in life.

3. Put First Things First:

This habit focuses on time management and prioritization. It teaches us to identify and concentrate on tasks that are most important rather than being distracted by less significant activities. It involves balancing responsibilities, learning to say no to distractions, and managing time effectively to achieve both short-term and long-term goals.

4. Think Win-Win:

This habit promotes a mindset of mutual benefit in relationships and teamwork. It encourages us to seek solutions where everyone involved gains something positive. Instead of approaching life with a competitive “I win, you lose” attitude, this habit fosters collaboration, respect, and understanding, creating an environment of trust and cooperation.

5. Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood:

This habit highlights the importance of listening empathetically before expressing your own thoughts or opinions. It teaches us to actively listen to others without judgment or interruption, ensuring they truly understand the other person’s perspective. By doing so, they can communicate their own ideas more effectively and build stronger relationships.

6. Synergize:

This habit emphasizes the value of teamwork and collaboration. Synergy means working together in a way that combines everyone’s strengths and ideas to achieve better results than any individual could accomplish alone. It celebrates diversity, encourages open-mindedness, and highlights how differences can lead to creative and innovative solutions.

7. Sharpen the Saw:

This habit is about self-renewal and continuous improvement in four areas: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. It encourages students to take care of their health, learn new skills, maintain emotional balance, and nurture inner values. By regularly “sharpening the saw,” they can stay energized, motivated, and effective in all areas of life.

By following these habits, we develop a strong foundation of leadership and life skills, empowering us to face challenges confidently and achieve success in all aspects of life.

Lim has been a game-changer for me. It is as if it's like a tool that will help me to think more clearly and to be much more organized when doing my complex tasks. When I started using it, I wasn't so sure about how it was really going to fit into my workflow, but the more I started to use it, I found just how much it could make things smoother.

For instance, it helped me break down large projects into smaller, more manageable steps. Before Lim, I used to feel overwhelmed, not knowing where to start or how to pace myself. But now, with Lim’s structure, I can focus on one thing at a time, which makes the whole process feel less daunting.

Another thing I love is that I can track progress. It's so easy to see where I'm at within a project, so I never lose track of anything important. And when some inspiration or creative input is needed, Lim has given me insights that have made me think outside the box.

This has made me more productive in the end, and honestly, I feel like I'm getting there with much less stress. Not a tool but very much part of how I approach tasks and projects every day.
