The first year of the medical program is predominantly applying biomedical science knowledge, with a longitudinal program of clinical skills and a day a week of clinical placement. During the first year of the program, it becomes apparent that Robyn has significant core weakness and upper limb weakness. They are unable to undertake physical tasks requiring anything beyond minor strength.
