At first, the pandemic and quarantine were tough, but I made it work. I had to adjust to a new way of life with everyone working and studying from home. The vaccine roll-out has given me hope and I’m looking forward to things returning to some sense of normalcy.

Little did I know that would be far from the truth. Although I thought I was saying goodbye for a week, I would really be saying goodbye for the next 2 years. When virtual school first started countless issues needed to be ironed out. Firstly, work wasn’t getting to students and this problem would end up with me 3 weeks behind on school work. Neatly, Zoom “bombing” would be a huge issue with almost every class having grown men join. This would honestly help stop boredom, and shake the repitienviness of each day. Another large issue is the disconnect in learning. Despite seeing and hearing the teacher, what they were explaining seemingly always escaped me. Math, Science, English, and History all harder than they needed to be. Additionally the challenge of distractions proved realer than ever. No deans to stop you from having “internet issues” to miss a class or two. Or just opening up another tab of something far more interesting. In conclusion, my experience with virtual school has been far from what I initially envisioned. The challenges of delayed assignments, Zoom bombing, the disconnect in learning, and the struggle to resist distractions have made this journey quite arduous. However, I recognize the importance of resilience and adaptability.
