Elephants are considered herbivores.  They snack on twigs, snacks, bushes and leaves. Elephants have evolved to be able to live off greens. Elephants also live off water. The amount of calories that elephants intake would be enough for a human for months.

The elephant trunk is used for smelling, drinking and breathing.  It is also used for grabbing thing such as a meal. African elephant have two fingerlike features at there end of their trunk. Asian elephants have just one fingerlike feature. The elephant trunk can also be used for smaller stuff.
