1: get a white back ground AND make it the length you want it 
2: then make guide lines use the ruler too make it the length you want it 
3: get the image you want to edit and go to ratio to make it an equal square
4: then you drag the image to the white background with the guide lines then reflect it the way you want
5: then go to duplicate layer and put it on the next cube and reflect it and repeat it as necessary 
My favorite part was putting the images and reflecting them.My favorite tesselation is the one of the branches. 
I struggled with making sure there weren't any white lines.
If I could do it again I would redo the 1 inch tesselation.
