He shows a clear preference for hands-on, practical activities where he can manipulate materials and explore through touch and movement. With continued motivation and encouragement, Thando is now able to complete a 36-piece puzzle independently, demonstrating improved concentration and problem-solving skills. He enjoys threading activities and is able to carefully navigate the thread through the beads and the holes of various shaped objects, showing developing hand-eye coordination and control. Thando has also explored all the peg boards and pegs available in class, using them with increasing confidence and dexterity. While fine motor tasks may not be his favourite, Thando’s determination and willingness to try new challenges in cutting, drawing and construction play, has helped him to strengthen his abilities and skills continuously.

He shows a definite preference for using his right hand and right foot during movement activities, indicating a dominance in this area. Thando has developed a good understanding of body awareness. He is able to name and identify all major body parts and can confidently explain their functions as learned and discussed throughout the year. He demonstrates this knowledge well during class discussions and movement activities, where he shows an awareness of how different parts of his body work together to perform various actions. Although this understanding is not yet clearly reflected in his body drawings, Thando is steadily improving in translating his knowledge into visual representations. He shows great enthusiasm for movement, particularly enjoying games like actions dance songs, musical chairs and free dancing, of which the Techno version of the 'Wheels on the Bus' is his favourite, where he actively participates. He enjoys learning the various techniques and is precise in his execution, reliably completing his projects exactly as the example demonstrated in class. He utilises the materials available to him to achieve the intended result, showcasing excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow complex visual instructions, which are important skills for early development.
