         <description><![CDATA[<p>Planning and Carrying Out Investigation</p><ul><li><p>Students observe and record daily weather patterns through numerous activities in class or represent that activity on the word wall. They also participate in using tools to measure out observations they can record when things are hot and cold (like using a thermometer). </p></li></ul><p><br></p><p>Analyzing and Interpreting Data</p><ul><li><p>Comparison happens when thinking about different weather conditions that are experienced over the course of a week or over different seasons. Identifying patterns in temperature changes helps reinforce what each of the seasons highlighted on the word wall really means. </p></li></ul><p><br></p><p>Asking Questions and Defining Problems</p><ul><li><p>Students create questions that they want to investigate about the observations they are making of weather (like if it is always cold when it is cloudy out?). </p></li></ul><p><br></p><p>Developing and Using Models</p><ul><li><p>Student-centered models are present in classwork supported by the word wall and artifacts that are supplied on the word wall, like the snowflakes for snow. </p></li></ul>]]></description>
