We started with the T chart with the kids (from the book) and they really enjoyed coming up with things that they had to learn before they could learn something else. We then discussed the definitions of growth and fixed mindsets, and continue to review the terms as situations come up. We had the students take the survey and scored each student based on the scale in the book. We made a line plot with the data and posted it so we can hopefully show a shift in some mind sets by the end of the year. We also had the kids work in pairs to do the sort in the book, which led to some good conversation.

We discussed how we are not looking at how many students got an "A", but how many students simply made an improvement. Our class has set a goal for this Unit to have 100% student make growth from the pre-test to the post-test.
