Complementary goods is and example of a shift in demand because when the price of one good goes up, the demand of the other good should go up to. However, with complementary goods, people buy them with each other so when the price goes up for one of the goods, the demand of the other goes down. This is a shifter because the price of the other good is changing, but the quantity demand is.

https://www.therobinreport.com/millennial-brand-preferences-a-2018-update/

This is an example of a shift in demand because although the prices and styles of clothing have remained the same within each brand, consumer tastes have changed. Millennials have begun to gravitate towards mass-producing brands, such as Forever 21 and Under Armour, whereas consumers used to be more interested in the Gap and Old Navy. This new consumer taste has increased demand for certain brands, and decreased demand in others.
