Laertes says Hamlet is just being a flirt and he showing fake love, in line 5 when he states “trifling of his favor”. He trying to say Hamlet is being petty and just temporary. In line 9, he says that the supply is going to last a minute, the affection is eventually going to fade. He isn’t just a common person so what he does matters. Laertes says if he says he loves you, he doesn’t mean it. Laertes warns his sister to be chaste threatening that if she gives into Hamlet, he will grow bored with her and leave her.
