Opioids may include heroin, fentanyl, and some prescription drugs. Because addiction and overdosing are such prevalent issues, Narcan is used at no cost to the patient to help save as many lives as possible. Using the same logic that explains the free administration of Narcan, it would follow that other lifesaving drugs like Insulin should be free as well. Insulin is used by huge portions of the population and is relied on regularly to save lives, just like Narcan.
