There is a great question asked. What is the difference between minor and major events? It depends on how major the event is to seek revenge. If you are being picked on there is no need, but if someone harms you or your family in a drastic way revenge could be seen as an option.

I believe that revenge can cloud someone's judgement, like Will in "A Long Way Down," and can easily lead to a person making a choice in the heat of the moment, that they could later regret.

I do think revenge is the largest aspect to the creation of the cycle of violence because it always clouds peoples judgement and makes them do things they shouldn't which inevitably leads to people getting hurt and having the cycle restart again.

I personal think that hatred is the 1# reason that violence is so common not revenge. This is because people kill other people they don't even know every day just because they don't agree with what they stand for or say, not because they did something wrong to them or hurt them.

I agree with Leah after a while you will start to think about what you have done and the guilt will slowly hit you. I think even if you don't feel it right away you will probably see how it has affected the people around you depending on how major the revenge is.
