I dont agree that 5 years old is the best age to start school, I think it is too young. The government has made this law but it has been publically debated about lowering the age to 16 numerous times, however it appears that majority of the public believe 18 is the correct age. The government has made this decision based on finances and also the medical health and technical advances. The age for retirement was previously 55, then 60 and now 65. I think it will continue to go up as the life expectancy increases.
