Bag: the law doesnt require you to be 100% certain, but how fast you act AND SWISS CHEESE MODEL!!! love the clear visualisation methodology

Heart: how children are vulnerable to risk & how I should be more thoughtful

Heart: Sad that 90% of adults enable lots things and unaware of most of the things taught today

Heart: I feel informed! Will definitely need time to internalise all of this — but I feel much more equipped to implement safeguarding practices.

Head: Even if harm doesn't occur directly in our space, but if there's any spillover/tensions felts by participants in our programme because of it, we have a responsibility to address it.

Heart: That nagging feeling

Bin: That it's enough to share our policy & expect others to be aligned with our safeguarding & CPP.

Bag: Harm stems from smaller risks that are dismissed/unaddressed; the onus is on all of us.

Head: How do we take these learnings and apply them to our social media execution without compromising performance?

Heart: Working so closely with impressionable students means I play such an important role (whether positive or negative) in their growth. This is a huge responsibility that I need to take with utmost seriousness.

Head: How big of an area child protection and safeguarding really is, and until and unless you’re directly working with children or passionate about the bettering the lives and rights of children, you wouldn’t know.

Heart: Malaysia slowly becoming more impacted-person/community-forward when it comes to social justice (the right ones at least, notwithstanding personal advocacy towards the rights to LGBTQIA+ community here) and different things different stakeholders have done to uphold and fight for the right cause.

Bag: The legal and policy language becoming more and more accessible and simple for everyone. And how it important it actually is for the beneficiaries or the affected.

Head : wasnt aware theres so many things to look on the child protection & safeguarding and didnt know few of them were actually crossing boundaries involving minors (eventho the intention wasnt bad)

Heart : overwhelming hahah

Bin : hmm didnt realise how much attention i should be given to these things

Bag : understanding our responsibility as ngo & adults ourselves in making students feel safe and protected :)
