The circulatory system also removes waste products from the cells and transports them to the lungs to be expelled from the body. 

The respiratory and circulatory systems work together to transport oxygen and nutrients to the body's cells. After oxygen is absorbed into the bloodstream by the respiratory system, the circulatory system carries it to the cells where it is needed. Similarly, the nutrients transported by the circulatory system are delivered to the cells by the bloodstream.
