This is one of Barrett Newman’s Artwork, Onement VI, painted in 1963. The canvas painted with deep powerful blue composition showing 2 abstract rectangles. The painting went up for auction and caused the winner an exceedingly amount of money. The painting was sold for $43.8 million. Onement VI is one of the most misunderstood painting out there, viewers would always comment how they would be able to recreate the painting but thats where they’re extremely wrong. The painting itself is very mesmerizing even though it’s just a painting of “blue” composition. It would be impossible to recreate, as there are brush strokes and to get the same exact blue that Barrett Newman’s used. I personally love this painting because of the reaction it gets from people.
