   Ben is a Minnesota boy who is half-deaf. When his mother dies he lived with his aunt and uncle but soon grew upset doing so and went to visit his house one more time. But during this visit gone wrong, he gets struck by lightning and becomes fully deaf, and hospitalized. One good outcome did come though, he found a clue to his dad. He runs away from the hospital and goes to New York to find Kinaid, a bookstore where he saw his dad on a bookmark. But when he uncovers his dad's world...well he is simply 'Wonderstuck' in his own cabinet of wonders.

    A deaf girl Rose, had ran away from home to the great New York that she could see out of her window; where her mother was famous, where her dreams were...or the place she thought she belonged, with the cabinets of wonders. She met her brother Walter and he saves her from her parents. He takes care of her as she grows older and goes to a deaf school where she learns to sign. At school, she meets her lover. Soon, she had a fully abled son. As the years go by, her husband and son leave her to a better place.
