It's 2019, the time has come to give a fresh touch to our education. Instead of just sitting still for an hour or two in class, learning a topic is much more informative when students get an early exposure to the topic by studying it first before going to class. Plus, we also get to interact with our friends in a study group; which makes learning way more faster because we get more information rather than just studying alone. Padlet acts like a helping tool to help us in study groups. It made KAT345 my favourite subject so far for this semester. I really hope though; that we can learn this way for other subjects as well. Learning through padlet is very intensive, looking forward for more!

For activity 2, which is we have to do mind map, i got to scan the main points from limitation of beer's law. And it was easier to memorize the contents from mind map. What I got from activity 2 was how to convert some information into readable mindmap and can be used for other to understand Beer's law. From. Activity 3, almost the same like activity 2, just using a model to explain more about spectrophotometer. A1) Discussing in a group is a brilliant way to enhance our understanding on a certain topic. But I see nowadays students don’t really like the idea of doing study groups. Why? Some of the factors are due to more chit chatting rather than studying. Different from Dr Azzizi’s class, we HAVE to do it because marks will be counted for the study group. I believe pressure do make us focus on our objective. Besides, studying in groups saves time because we can split the subtopics among our groupmates. Plus, drawing mindmaps absolutely helps on memorizing the topic in a short time. 

A2) When learning about a machine, I believe it is better to be able to see the machine itself rather than just learning its theories. But, it wouldn’t be practical to have to bring the machine everywhere. Thus, making a smaller model of the machine is a genius alternative. We get to physically see how the machine operates through the model without even have to use the real machine. We also get to understand it more when we have to present to Dr Azzizi on what do we understand about the machine. This activity encouraged us to work in a team which is really useful and important when we get out later int the future. The only class I always look forward to for this semester. Through this learning experience, I finally get the idea of ‘Don’t Study Hard but Study Smart’. We get to learn so many new things in a fun atmosphere without stress. And I surprise myself that I was able to answer the exercise questions after every CML activity at ease. Usually I would have to burn the midnight oil to study for a quiz/test, but CML taught me the latter. My hopes are, may my coursemates and I get As for KAT345 and will be able to benefit a lot from the knowledge we gained from this course. Even though I found it's a bit burdensome, but the CML technique helps me a lot to enhance my understanding. So why bother to read all the lectures notes when you know how to learn in a fun way? As what I've heard, those students who took pure chem as their major can choose KAT 345 as one of their elective subject, so as a KAT 345 student, I would definitely encourage them to select this course as I've gained a lot of knowledge from this particular course. Just love the way Dr put in effort to make everyone of us understand the lecture better, for example when Dr demonstrate the UV-Vis model, I got a clearer view on how the components of the model function effectively. Since I'm an auditory learner, so this is definitely a good way of me improving my understanding on what I've read. Apart from that, discussing the activities given in group, exchanging ideas, working on mind maps etc really help me to gain something from the discussion. Lastly, it's terribly sad that it gonna be our last class today, still hoping that Dr gonna teach us again. Gonna miss the lecture a lot. Semoga Allah merahmati usaha Dr atas ilmu yg dicurahkan.
