Organised by the National Arts Council since 2012, Silver Arts is an annual festival that collaborates with artists, arts organisations and community partners to integrate the arts into the lifestyles of seniors. From performances to workshops, seniors can showcase their creative talents through co-created content or learn a new skill, enhancing their overall well-being. The festival offers opportunities for seniors to share their stories that shape our collective memories, and forge stronger inter-generational understanding. Into its sixth edition, this year's festival took place over four weeks from 1 to 24 September island-wide.

A Multi-Instrumentalist with a strong foundation in tradition, Aliff Azman is a known figure in the Malay music circles and the performing arts industry on a whole. Aliff’s involvement in the music scene started in 2003 where he was part of the well known Siglap Nusantara Orchestra led by the late Mr. Mohamed Khamis Bin Selamat. Aliff undertook formal music education in 2015 at Lasalle College of The Arts majoring in bass guitar.

In 2008, Aliff was the lead singer for Andika a renown Dikir Barat group in Singapore, winning numerous awards locally and internationally. Aliff was talent-spotted from the Dikir Barat scene in 2013 to join as a choral singer for Rapsodi, a TV collaboration between Singapore’s MediaCorp Suria and Brunei Darussalam’s Radio Televisyen Brunei (RTB). Also he recorded various Dikir Barat projects eg; Youth Olympic Games (2010),  MOE Textbook MLLPC (2012) & Chingay (2014).

As an established malay music accordionist, Aliff has performed in numerous shows locally for music and dance festivals since 2013 such as Muara Festival (2016 & 2017) & Tumasik - Revisiting History & Rewriting Our Story (2017). He performs regularly for Orkes Mutiara, a malay traditional music band. As a young accordionist in the malay music scene with his explorative nature, it places Aliff in a good position for collaboration with artists from all backgrounds within local and international scene.

Syair Biola is a music theatre production with witty dialogue performed by a mix of established artists and young actors, featuring a live music ensemble playing nostalgic tunes from the music of P. Ramlee, Matt Monro, Harry Belafonte and Teresa Teng.

Follow the trials and tribulations of the various residents of Kampong Biola as they are faced with news of the redevelopment of the kampong.
Directed and written by Cultural Medallion recipient Nadiputra and produced by Saiful Amri, Straits Times Life! Theatre Awards nominee.
Commissioned by the National Arts Council for Silver Arts 2017.
