According I n the story electricity it explains that sometimes a charge builds up. This built up electric charge is called static electricity. The reason that you getshockedis because when you touch a medal doorknob. This shock is a jolt of electric discharge. In addition in the book their is a boy trying to open the door but he couldn't because he got shocked, that means A negative charge has built up on the boy in the picture.
