By: Gile Andreae
This picture book is about Gerald who is a tall giraffe, whose neck was long and slim. But his knees were awfully crooked and his legs were rather thin, he was very good at standing still, munching shoots off trees. Every year in Africa they hold a Jungle Dance where every single animal turns up to skip and prance. Poor Gerald felt so sad because when it came to dancing he was really bad.
I liked this book and It's one of my favorite book to read to children because it tells you that even though you are different and how others discourage you, that you cannot do things, sometimes you need to stop and listen to the music that is yours to dance to, and if you find that music that you can dance to, you will be the best dancer or the best that you can be.

This book would be interesting for children who feel they are different, It is good for children ages 6 to 8. I could use this book to teach children that being different or if they are having difficulties in other things that maybe they are just finding out what their things that they can be the best if they want to be.

By: Keiko Kasza
This picture book is about two friends who want to go to the part, but how bad is it to go to to a park for a picnic? Two friends decided to go for a picnic at the park. Duck arrived at Racoon's house on a bright, sunny day. "Hey, Racoon!" said the Duck. "Are you ready for a picnic?" "Um, well...I changed my mind," said Racoon.
I like this book because it's all about how a simple nice sunny day and two friends decided to go to a park to have a picnic, but before they even get there, there's a lot of ifs and buts, what can be ifs and buts for a picnic at the park? And how being ready is always a good thing, you'll never know what is going to happen and it always good to be "ready for anything."
This book would be interesting for children who always over think, and worries a lot, it is good for early readers children ages 4 through 7. It helps them think and imagine the what's and ifs. I could use this book to teach children how to make conclusions. Critical thinking.
(Date Read: August 19, 2017)

By: Amy Young
This new 2016 picture book is about a girl name Lucy who sees an ad in the newspaper for a unicorn, she sends in her twenty-five cents and waits four to six long weeks for her very own unicorn to arrive. She imagines the flowers that she'll braid into his beautiful pink mane, and she even picks the perfect name for him: Sparkle. But when Sparkle arrives, his ears are too long, his horn is too short, he smells funny--and oh, he has fleas. Lucy isn't pleased, but in the end she warms up to Sparkle and realizes that even though he wasn't exactly the unicorn she wanted, he might be just the one she needs.
This is interesting for children ages six to eight years old who see things differently. That things do not have to be perfect all the times, sometimes it is just what we need, it is about friendship and acceptance. I can use this book in teaching character traits.
