In Sheffield we have teamed up with providers to offer a number of numeracy workshops/courses in the community.

Multiply is a 3 year project (from 2022) funded by the DfE (Department for Education) and is the first priority of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (replacing ESF).

• 17 million adults have maths skills similar to a primary child aged 7-9 years old
• Part of the approach to ‘Levelling Up ’ initiatives
• Nationally up to £559 million is available over the three years
• The South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) has been allocated the funding for South Yorkshire which is approximately £7.5 million over the 3 years

The programme supports people to overcome their barriers to maths and enable them to be more functional with numeracy in everyday life.

It is hoped that many Multiply learners will progress on a pathway to gain a qualification up to level 2 in maths equipping them with skills that will enable people to progress in life, work and their career.

Employers to upskill their workforce and succession planning, ensuring they have a workforce fit for the future

Other providers who can develop sector specific learning delivery to enable employers to develop their workforce
