(Youtube)
Plastics in the ocean relates to this topic because we are sharing the planet with everyone including species in the ocean. 8 million metric tones of plastic trash enter the ocean every year which lead to lots of species in danger and face extinction. Plastics in the ocean is really hard to get rid of and need a century to turn the plastics into smaller pieces or dissolve it. We can solve the problem by stop using plastics and bring their own bags when shopping. Moreover, do not throw any things into the ocean.

I chose this video because I think we should be aware of the plastics in the ocean which can kill species and also will damage our planet in general. We should protect our planet and environment, practising the 4Rs (Reuse, reduce, recycle and replace).

According to the article, the rate of suicide in different age groups has been falling recently except for the age group of 15-24, which are the students. Instead of falling or keeping steady, the suicide rate is rising. Research also found out that full-time students are more likely to suicide than the teenagers that don't recieve education. Students are mainly stressing and concerning about academics-- to get the best grades to get into top universities to have a high salary job, relationships between family and friends, and even the government.
After reading this article, I think we, especially as students should be aware of handling and relief stress, let your voice to be heard by someone that could help you as it is so sure that pupils will get some stress.

Cameras and sensors will help to detect what customers bought so that customers can leave after getting what they need, as everything is paid using their credit card. But, they will need the Amazon-go app on their phones first.
This article tells us that technology has been improving, from paying with phone apps like AliPay to checkout-free stores.

Alex
(Youtube)
I watched this video is about how the rate of poverty is increasing in HK. Firstly, the homeless people's meals have not enough nutrients just bread and noodles. Which leads them to have unhealthy diet.
Also, their living conditions are unsatisfactory cuz they have lack of shelter by living on a footbridge. Which makes them feel uncomfortable while living on a footbridge.

This is the reason why the rate of poverty rises. Is because HK housing rents are too expensive, however these homeless people are unemployed. So this leads to more people are less affordable to pay for the rent of houses.

As a social welfare department, they should provide free fresh foods services for them to eat. In order to maintain their healthy diet.
In addition, the government should provide some jobs for the homeless peopler to get employed. This is the benefit to reduce the rate of unemployment, so that the homeless people can earn a proper salary or wager to maintain a better life. Furthermore, the government should reduce the price of rent of houses. This is important for the people to satisfy their payment of rent.

Also, I think we should save water, the reservation of water can
prolong the use in the future. As water is limited which will be scarcity if the demand is higher than the supply. Xunava is a 16-year-old Syrian refugee who dreams of going to school. The last time she was in the classroom was 2012, with only grade 4. She was forced to leave her country due to civil wars and conflict in the country. I was annoyed by the fact that she faced a violent environment at a young age. This makes me realise how fortunate I am; I am so lucky that I have the opportunity to receive a high quality of education in a safe place. Which tells me that I should cherish everything in front of me as these experiences let us know that happiness is not a definite thing, things in our hands might drop one day if we do not hold it tight.
She is now currently a child laborer in the coastal city of Mersin, the breadwinner in a family of six, toiling in a sewing factory six days a week. Although she went through all the blood, sweat and tears, I am pleased to see her survived from the unbearable journey safe and sound.

Compared to the tall buildings, light signs and shopping malls, Kamagasaki is full of tents and homeless old men sleeping on the streets.
(Youtube)Humans invent robots which bring numerous changes in people's life and their living standard. Take hospital as an example, there are not enough nurse and doctor so they can use robots to transfer and bring medicine around to the patient or anywhere which can reduce time and become more efficiency. Hence the problem of shortage in health care providers can be tackled. Also, they can utilise robots to do some minor surgery and assist doctors when doing the high risk surgery. Robots are very helpful but it is quite expensive to have one of them. Robots can do lots of things and act like a human but they do not have emotion.I chose this video clip because I think human is clever because they have used their own knowledge to build lots of robots and can raise the economy and people's living standard too. In the future, robots will be more useful and can use it anywhere such as helping people to generate new ideas and use robots to protect their country.

Tragically, the fire accident complete destroyed the three-level castle which makes me feel disappointed.
The good news is there are no one was injured during such accident, however, many of the ancient valuable objects were completely burned by the fire. Firemen could stopped the fire as the castle was made of of wood while the north and south buildings also incorporated steel. No sprinklers had been installed so the heat transference was so fast that the firemen couldn't help as long as no one is inside the castle would be fine.

However, I can't believe some the issue had evolutes into s different stage that there are some appearance of cage house that I was a bit shocked. There are now ten thousand of people living the cities who live in spaces that are between 75- 140 square feet, it's almost the same size as a typical parking space in the US. It's even worse in the cage house that there is only a bad size available that all their belongings were packed in that cramped area this causes easily spread of diseases and it might also indirectly harms individual's mental health.

Tuen Mun residents complained that there is a strange and irritating smell that smells like tear gas. Their eyes and skins were irritated, they coughed a lot , teary eyes and they felt uncomfortable. Parents were concerned about their children's health very much. Especially when a child had rashes on her neck. Some residents witnessed the protesting scene and black spot that was suspected to be tear gas canisters.
The air quality index was very high in the Tuen Mun district.
Why Hong Kong's iconic neon lights have all but disappeared

https://www.goldthread2.com/travel/hong-kong-fading-neon-lights/article/3019495
Stephy:
Neon light signs are one of the iconic things in Hong Kong. You can see them in the streets like Nathan Road. Making Hong Kong a beautiful and vibrant city.
This article mainly tells us the story behind the neon lights and why are they disappearing these days. Neon lights were introduced to the streets of Hong Kong during the 1920s and more shops started using neon light signs in the 1970s, which was the golden age of Hong Kong as the economy was at it's peak. However, the neon light signs started to fade out and were replaced by the LED light signs as they are much cheaper and energy-efficient. Furthermore, due to the government regulations, shops need to remove signs as they might be too big and might eventually drop. This is why you can't see neon lights overlapping each other in the streets of Hong Kong anymore.
In my opinion, I think the neon-light culture should be preserved. These neon-light signs represents Hong Kong, it inspires the pop culture a lot as many movies used neon-light as a backdrop like the sci-fi movie, Blade Runner. I really like the neon-lights in Hong Kong as they are spice up Hong Kong with the aesthetic streets and associate with Hong Kong well when you see a neon light street sign.

Climate change: Why isn't Nicaragua in the Paris agreement?

Nicole
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-40135819
Paris Agreement: is to limit global warming to 2 degree compared with pre-industrial levels.
Nicaragua is a country in Central America and it is the fourth most vulnerable country to climate change, according to the Global Climate Risk Index. It is vulnerable to climate change because it is located near the ring of fire where most of volcano forms and frequent earthquakes. The reason why Nicaragua isn't in Paris agreement as they feel it doesn't work, rising of 2% is not efficiency as all. Their main aim is to reach 90% renewable and only 0.03% of the global total emission by 2020. Also, they don't want to be grouped with the other countries as "Paris agreement" is like verbal agreement that everyone is not actually take action to it.

6 Pressing Questions About Beef and Climate Change, Answered

Nicole
https://www.wri.org/blog/2019/04/6-pressing-questions-about-beef-and-climate-change-answered
As we know climate change is threatening our planet. After reading this article i was surprised about how beef production could negatively impact our world with climate change. Food production land is used to raise animals instead of crops, precious water and soil are lost, trees are cut down to make land for grazing or factory-farm sheds, and untreated animal waste pollutes rivers. These consequence are all created by our own hand of just because we wanted eat that slice of beef. According to the article beef is more resource-intensive than other foods means they have lower growth rate than the other, so there is a risk of endanger in the next decades.
I think we should stop consume so much of meat per day. We need to take a new habit of eating less meat per day so this not only save the environment and the planet, it also save the individuals health as over-consume of meat could easier causes cancer than vegan.
