Yet, a sense of guilt almost, when I put myself in Bilbo's shoes. Through the dwarfs and the Mountain Song, Bilbo learns that Smaug destroyed and stole all the treasure of the dwarfs, and they're on a quest to reclaim what he stole. 
I can relate to the dwarfs, because someone stole my iPod Shuffle that i got for my 10th/11th birthday. It was my first ever Apple Product and it meant a lot to me.When I realized it was missing, I was so mad but desperate to get it back.

He changes his perspective based on what is going on in his surroundings. After the spider attack, he had a sense of passion for adventure, due to the adrenaline. Near the beginning of the book, when they're walking on a trail, Bilbo wanted to retreat back to his hobbit hole.

Adventures can teach you many things in ways you didn't know. Staying huddled all the time won't get you exposed to new and enchanted experiences. Risks can help a person learn, for example, what is right or wrong, and what is safe or dangerous. Taking adventures and risk can make you feel more powerful, "On top of the world." Waiting for something exciting to happen to you isn't that satisfying, which is why people go on journeys that await them.

It demonstrates how Bilbo got stronger, physically and mentally. The other settings, it is true that you can see hints of character development in Bilbo, but the Forest has the greatest impact. After the killing of the spiders, Bilbo felt stronger and it helped the group of dwarfs feel more comfortable and secure around him. In the Ted Talk, the speaker is talking about one of his childhood memories, and how he became to fear swimming due to a horrible experience. However at age 31, he re-examined swimming and tried it once more.
