Shortly after WW1, her family moved to southern Germany where Rosa was born. Rosa ended up marrying an American soldier who was stationed in Germany after the war was over Rosa went with him. After her marriage in 1935, she joined her husband Dominic in Detroit where they ended up raising their family, She entered the work force at 45 and worked for Michigan Blue Cross

After Rosa got a job she bought her mother a radio,it was criminal offense to listen to foreign stations but her mother would listen anyway.

One day the lawyer that Rosa worked for was treating her different and had her type a letter that was very unusual, she learned that it was about her mother listening to the radio and the Nazi's were coming for her mother.

Rosa went to the police station but the officer was a anti-nazi. He denied knowing anything but finally admitted knowing that her mother had been reported. The butcher was in the circle,but it turned out that he had a nephew in the Gestapo. The officer promised that all the files would disappear if the butcher gave the officer and his family meat when ever they asked leading up to the the end of the war.
