While going through the comments of what they students wrote on their opinions, there was one particular answer that stood out to me the most. 
Many people think that being able to go to a water park or a baseball game means your an American, however the student, Jonathan, points out that being American means "to live your life out to the fullest, not just waving around a flag everyday... Being an American means helping your sworn enemy, even if you do not wish, but you shall help with dignity and pride", pointing out that there is so much more to being an American than just freedom to do whatever you want.
