The Canadians used a new technique battle during the Vimy Ridge. It took Canadians four days to take the Vimy Ridge over because it was the major war point for everyone.

Confederation July 1st, 1867 gave birth to the beautiful country named Canada. The event took place on London Conference. The leaders who created Canada was John A. Macdonald, John Cartier and George Brown. The Confederation was the key event to join every province and territory together and create big, strong nation. The main reason of joining the confederation was to protect every territory and province from USA. The Indigenous people unfortunately were not invited to any of the meetings about Confederation, but the decisions made an impact on them. It is affecting the Current Events because of this Confederation people are living in a big and strong country named Canada. The positive effect of confederation is strengthened friendship among all territories and provinces, it encouraged trades in the country and out of country, it let people feel free in the country. The negative effects are the governing was slow, there was no regulatory or proper laws, and the Government places were limited. What would of be without the confederation?

Glover, F. (2020, January 16). Confederation (plain-language summary).

The Hudson's Bay firm (HBC) is the oldest incorporated joint-stock retailing firm in English-speaking countries. It was founded in England in 1670, to seek a northwest route to the Pacific, to occupy the areas next to Hudson Bay, and to engage in any profitable trade with those regions. The corporation established multiple factories (forts and trade stations) along the coast around the mouths of important rivers. The company's headquarters are located in Brampton, Ontario. HBC is a 350-year-old fur trade company associated with the colonization of British North America and the foundation of Canada. It is one of the primary origins of Canada's Metis community. The HBC drew Indigenous populations into the capitalist economy, making it may be the most significant single reason why Western Canada is not today the northwest United States. Hudson's Bay Company is the biggest trade company in Canadian History. It tells the narrative of an English firm claiming and assisting in the colonization of vast swaths of North America populated by sovereign Indigenous tribes.

Is it a good company for Canada?

Ray, A.

The Indian Wars began when English colonists landed in Jamestown, Virginia, in 1607. The Europeans began an unpleasant relationship with the Native Americans. The Indian War started in 1754 and ended in 1763. The Indian Wars is important for Canada because Indigenous people fought for their freedom. The positive effects of the Indian Wars ended up with the Treaty of Paris. In the Treaty of Paris, France abandoned all claims to Canada and ceded Louisiana to Spain, while Britain acquired Spanish Florida, Upper Canada, and numerous French foreign assets. The pact-maintained Britain's colonial and maritime supremacy while also strengthening the 13 American colonies by eliminating their European competitors to the north and south. The results of the French and Indian War would do more to divide Britain and her colonists than any other event in history up to that date. During the Seven Years' War, Britain's national debt nearly quadrupled, and the colonies would bear a significant amount of the cost of repaying it.

Is it worth it?

William Griffith received his BA in History from Shepherd University in 2014, and M. in M.

The Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) was incorporated in 1881. Its intended objective was to build a transcontinental railway, as promised to British Columbia upon joining Confederation (see Railway History). The railway, finished in 1885, connected Eastern Canada to British Columbia and played a vital part in the country's growth. Connected Eastern Canada to British Columbia and played a vital part in the country's growth. However Canadian Pacific Railway used the Chinese labor workers and took the Indigenous people lands. The negative effects of the Canadian Pacific Railway are the conflict between Indigenous People and the Europeans who decided to build the railway. The positive effects are that the people finally got to travel around Canada and bringing goods all around Canada. So, it was good or a bad decision to build the railroad?

Lavalle , O. (2008, March 6). Canadian Pacific Railway.
Great Depression

The Great Depression was a worldwide economic depression that began in 1929 and lasted until around 1939. Millions of Canadians were left jobless, hungry, and even homeless. The decade became known as the Dirty Thirties as a result of a devastating drought in the Prairies, as well as Canada's reliance on raw materials and agricultural exports. The widespread loss of employment and savings altered the country. The Great Depression ushered forth social welfare programs and populist political parties. It also prompted the government to become more proactive in the economy. Demographic shifts were a telling indicator of hardship in Canada. Immigration and birth rates have decreased. During the 1930s, population growth hit its lowest point since the 1880s. Prices had stayed practically stable throughout the decade, with small recessions in 1924 and 1927. Given the critical roles that monetary contraction and the gold standard played in precipitating the Great Depression, it is not unexpected that currency depreciation and monetary growth were the primary drivers of recovery throughout the world. There is a clear link between when nations abandoned the gold standard (or significantly depreciated their currencies) and when they enjoyed fresh growth in output.

pells, R.
