The Greenwich Meridian Route (Spain) (Raquel, Alejandro, Marcos)

Type of holiday: Cultural and adventure trip

Why this route?
Follow the path of the Greenwich Meridian as it cuts through Spain, from the Mediterranean coast to the Pyrenees. It’s a great way to explore different cities and landscapes, all without straying from the line marked by the meridian, with a night spent in each spot.

Day 1: Altea (Alicante)
Start in the charming coastal town of Altea. You can take a leisurely stroll along the beach and try some local treats like “pescaito frito” (fried fish) or cool off with a traditional horchata. A perfect way to giving a shot to some Mediterranean vibes!

Day 2: Beniarbeig
Next stop is Beniarbeig, a small but cute village. Here, check out some iconic landmarks, as the San Juan Bautista Church and cross the Greenwich Meridian Bridge, which marks the imaginary line splitting the planet.

Day 3: Denia
Denia is where the party people can have some fun! If that’s not your style, you can visit the Museo del Mar and learn about the town’s seafaring history. There’s something for everyone here.

Day 4: Castellón de la Plana (Castellón)
In Castellón, head to the Mercat Central de Castelló. It’s especially lively on weekends, with locals shopping and lots of food to try. It’s a bit bustling crowded, but worth it for the experience!

Day 5: Monte Perdido (Huesca)
Finally, wrap up the journey near Monte Perdido in the Pyrenees. It’s a great place to go hiking and enjoy some fresh mountain air, ending your trip surrounded by amazing natural beauty.

Bunker: An adventure that will test your limits (Rocío, Irene Martín, Emilio & Carolina)

Type of holiday and location: Imagine a journey that mixes culture and adventure, a unique chance to dive into history while testing your survival skills. Bunker is an exciting experience that takes you to explore different parts of Spain, from famous spots to hidden treasures. One of these places is in Carabanchel, but there are many more to discover. Each location has a special atmosphere, ready to take you back in time.

Accommodation: the best rest for peace seekers

If you have trouble sleeping or need total silence at night, and feel you're in a backwater village, this is the place for you. Here, you’ll find a quiet environment, far from the noise of the modern world. You’ll sleep in a sleeping bag, wrapped in blankets, just like a camping trip under the stars. It’s not luxury, but it’s an authentic and peaceful experience. And the price is surprisingly low. In fact, this plan becomes very popular during special times like Halloween, when mystery and adventure are everywhere.

Activities: adrenaline and survival challenges

In Bunker, there’s no room for boredom. Every participant will face a survival escape room that goes beyond simple fun. You’ll have to collect items to survive, feeling like you’re part of a real-life movie, similar to "The Hunger Games." The tension grows as you move forward, discovering how far you can go when survival is at stake. You’ll also learn real survival skills, like how to start a fire with natural elements. This experience will test you physically, but also make you think about your own limits and how you’d act in a life-or-death situation.

Food: the challenge of feeding yourself

Survival is not just about physical challenges, it’s also about getting food. Every person will get a basic survival kit, but the real challenge is to find food by yourself. It’s not just about eating, but about proving that you can be independent, making each success feel like a big win.

An unforgettable experience: a step into history

This activity is not just about survival; it’s also a chance to understand what people lived through during hard times. Bunker takes you back to the days of the Spanish Civil War, giving you a real sense of what our grandparents had to endure. For students, it’s a history lesson they will never forget, a chance to learn in a hands-on way about a very intense time in our history. This experience will spark curiosity and encourage participants to learn more about these events.

Final recommendation: don’t miss this chance!

If this sounds interesting to you, don’t wait. Adventure tourism like this is becoming very popular, and spots for Bunker fill up quickly. We recommend checking official websites like those of the Community of Madrid or your local council for more information on the routes and circuits available. Don’t hesitate! this experience will change the way you think about history, adventure, and yourself.

Type of holiday: cultural and monumental.

Location: different cities around Spain such as Merida, Tarragona or Segobriga (Cuenca).

Accommodation: a weekend is enough to enjoy these cities full of monuments made in time of the Roman Empire. So you can spend the night in a local hotel.

Activities: in the majority of the cities you can see a theatre, an amphitheater and hot springs. So you can walk around these remains, many of them are currently archeological sites. About it, you should be careful because some of them are closed on Mondays. Also, any of them, like Merida, hold a theatre festival year after year. So, you are really lucky if you get some tickets to see this unforgetable spectacle.

Other of these cities organise touristic routes with local guides.

Delicious food: one of these cities, Tarragona, has a wonderful restaurant specialised in Roman dishes, so these are only made with ingredients used in Roman times (so, no potatoes, for example). Also, if you want, you can take food with your hands and on "sofas" where you can eat "lied down", similar to Roman "triclinium".

Our recommendation: if you like history and let you leave to remote civilizations, this is the perfect holiday by you.
