According to an article, a study found that, "PTSD or depression seriously impaired daily functioning in 8.5 percent to 14 percent of these vets (Salamon, 2010)." </div>]]></description>

         <title>The Gulf War Syndrome </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Veterans who served during the Gulf War (1990-1991) later on developed symptoms such as fatigue, joint pain, HA, and respiratory issues. Interestingly the cause is unknown. However, the VA lists many Gulf War exposures that may contribute to the illness such as Oil Well fires, PB pills, sand/dust particles, Noise, depleted uranium etc (<em>Va.gov: Veterans Affairs</em> 2013).</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>"Veterans makeup 11% of the adult homeless population in the United States (Weber et al., 2017)." As we have learned, often times veterans have a hard time adjusting to civilian life once they are back from duty, and this can lead to many issues with employment, education, mental health, and stability. Veterans, "have higher rates of physical illness, mental illness, and substance abuse. They are also more likely to utilize EDs, be admitted to the hospital at a younger age, and have longer lengths of stay at a greater cost (O'Toole et al., 2010)."  </div>]]></description>

Some signs and symptoms include but not limited to are sleep disturbances, forgetfulness, irritability, anxiety, and depression. Fortunately, there are rehabilitation programs available for veterans suffering from TBI. As of now, there is research being done to help veterans utilize tools to retain their ability to engage in everyday activities. </div>]]></description>
