Idea's From Banerji’s Lecture Video

Continuous attention in Banerji’s definition of research refers to the fact that the research of any subject is ongoing. There is already research connected with it, and you are just inserting yourself into that field to expand on the research that has already been conducted.

Research must be valid and verifiable. Research is not conducted merely for yourself. This systematic organized procedure of arriving at knowledge is something that you are undertaking so that it will become part of the human storehouse of knowledge, and therefore, has an impersonal component to it. It should be scientifically established in such a way that anybody can repeat it. It is the factor of being universally repeatable that establishes it as a universal truth.

Epistemology is the philosophy of knowing how we arrive at knowledge. This is very important because we find that our actual ways of knowing in the world are very different from knowledge as we know it scientifically. There is a place for every kind of knowledge in research methodology.

Logical thinking is a key factor in research methodology. Some say that this is the central type of knowledge in research methodology. Logical thinking is utilized when we reason from findings to conclusions. We use logic in every stage: to design our research, to arrive at hypotheses, to collect data, to utilize data analysis, and to come to conclusions.

The kind of perspective we have on reality and how it affects our research is called research paradigms. The term paradigms have become popular in modern times and in research thinking.

A literature review is a survey of scholarly sources that provides an overview of a particular topic. Literature reviews are a collection of the most relevant and significant publications regarding that topic in order to provide a comprehensive look at what has been said on the topic and by whom.

The Methods Section should include:

the aim, design and setting of the study

the characteristics of participants or description of materials

a clear description of all processes, interventions and comparisons. Generic drug names should generally be used.
