Cobham could run a Yr7/8 class on site at Waimairi for those who want intermediate in a primary sch setting. An option for parents if they wish

I chose for my daughter to come to Waimairi initially because I liked the new entrants block with the atrium for having combined activities between classes and space to play outside of the classroom in winter and rain. I think having more co joined spaces for classes to interact with each other would be great as well as space to play in winter/rain.

deeper pool so the kids don't (complain about) scraping their knees on the bottom during swimming lessons.

A cafeteria where the kids can eat their lunch. Doesn't have to sell food but a place with tables, chairs and a microwave for those who are reluctant to eat sandwiches.

I value my children's learning time and would not like to see them sitting on buses travelling to other schools to use resources. Not sure how much learning is done on a bus

Would like to keep the intermediate option in our community. This is vital for this age group and it is important that we as parents have the option of intermediate schooling. If year 7 and 8 s are at a primary school then this is not an intermediate but a full primary . This is quite different.

Winter and summer sports could definitely be enhanced. discussing the limited space and resources available for winter sports practice last night – ¾ of the field for football, and there’s ¼ of the field for 40 kids to practice rugby! Operating with other schools, we could share resources and utilise grounds and buildings to develop better skills, i.e. Waimairi for football, Fendalton for rugby etc. There’s opportunity for the sessions to be more organised and technical, if schools aren’t having to cater for all sports. Similarly costs could be kept down too without having to provide all the kit.Anyway, food for thought.

ontract in specialist/intinerant teaching resources that can teach across the cluster schools in areas such as second languages, technology, sports extension, subjects where the demand in each school is not high enough to warrant the employment of a permanent resource. If necessary, to get critical mass, students can travel to one school for sessions.
