I think the price should be less than $1,000,000 because it isn't very uncommon to have a bowl that looks like this. I think the value might come from the material and age but definitely not more than $1,000,000. There are many similar pieces that have sale prices around $1,000,000 or even less.

It isn't the most expensive work but I fell in love with this painting because it looks contemporary( It is modern art indeed unlike other art works in the rooms) and also reminds me Jackson Pollock of abstract and running down paint lines.
After I looked some of other auction websites, I see cost of his art works varies much. It is valued between $4-6 million. It was also used as the image for the Christies website of this years Asian Week auction. This item was placed in an in wall showcase and was not behind any glass. I think that this item must be very important in Buddhist history or rare in its specific qualities to be of this value. From the Christies website I discovered they charge a 20% fee for the sale so that must be part of the huge expense. I found it very shocking and nerve wrecking to be in this tiny room next to something so of value. I think artwork is valued by its time period, its condition, materials and specific qualities so I think they are somewhat related. I don’t think the cost of this item is so outrageous compared to a previous sale that Christies made for a small piece of fine china sold in 2017 for $13 million.

This bowl is sturdily potted accommodated with shallow rounded sides which rise from a slight tapered foot. the exterior of the bowl is painted in rich cobalt blue. The design painted is Eight large herbaceous penny blooms borne, a meandering leafy school, a double line boarder, a band of upright lappets, an undulating floral scroll, which is inscribed with a six-character reign located below the rim.
Provenance: Purchased by Richard Marchant in London circa 1969, and gifted to his sons Stuart and Bruce Marchant.
This Bowl is priced between $2,000,000-$3,000,000. As it is very rare and pleasing to look at, it is in great shape as it is nearly 1000 years old. It all depend on how long a ago the work was made, the sizes and of course how long the labor and time it took to make these magnificent pieces.  If I was a collector or bidding for a piece, I would put down a million or more. Because I think they are all very ancient and it's worth something in many centuries.

This was the highest bid that I saw online since I had a feeling a missed the most expensive bid while I was there.
I don't even know about these numbers since there so large, I cannot imagine anyone spending this amount. everything depends on the circumstances I guess.
I do understand the price due to the fact that it is a bronze item and also it is a ritual aspect. The second art works become a part of a ritual or religion it really ups the object and give it a certain sentimental aspect for buyers.
I agree with Yuelin Wu when she says it is absurd to pay the price of an apartment on something you can get all over china. ON the other Hand as I mentioned before everything had to be considering the circumstances. Let say a family that own 3 apartments they sure can buy an expensive art piece. But I still agree.

The slightly tapering, deep rectangular body is raised on four columnar supports each cast in high relief at the top with a taotie mask. The body is cast in high relief on each side with a large taotie mask with dragon-shaped horns divided by a notched flange repeated at the corners and above to divide a pair of kui dragons, all reserved on leiwengrounds. The everted rim is set with a pair of inverted U-shaped handles. The base of the interior is cast with a single clan sign, Shao. I chose this work because I've always loved kimonos and robes like these that are very beautifully decorated. The colors, patterns, and imagery are always very unique and interesting and a lot of times have a story in folk lore behind the designs.  I also love that its a piece with a tactile element, I love that you can touch it and feel the stitching and the material. An important thing to consider when it comes to the price of a piece is not always how old it is, but how high the quality is, the better its condition the more it can sell for. 
Compared to the prices from other pieces this price range seems pretty average, however to me it still seems crazy expensive. If you have the money for it and are a collector of items like these then it would be a good buy.

I wasn't able to get a very good picture of it because there were two men inspecting it for a very long time and I wasn't sure how much longer they would take, so I snuck a picture over their shoulders.

To be honest, I don't have any idea what exactly caused this one figure to be worth so much. There were other figures that looked pretty similar that were only worth a few thousand, or maybe a few hundred thousands. The difference must be in how good of shape that particular statue was in, or how important this figure was in 11-12th century Chinese culture. But as far as market value goes, the closest thing I could find to this was another gilt bronze statue, this time of Shakyamuni (who I believe is the prince who became the original Buddha), which sold for $3,612,500 against an estimated value of $1-2 million. So I suppose this isn't too outrageous, but it certainly isn't typical.

I found that my favorites didn't usually have any connection with their price. I guess that's what they mean when they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder?

I think my favorite piece was a painting in the contemporary painting section at Christie's. It's an untitled painting by Hemendranath Mazumdar - I attached it to this post.

A couple others I liked were another untitled piece, by Sailoz Mookherjea, and a painting called Zhong Kui, by Wang Ziwu (you can follow the links to see them)

Finely cast as a tantric image of Avalokitesvara with three eyes and four arms shown seated with legs pendent, the primary hands held in anjalimudra, the other pair resting on the knows, wearing an elaborate, openwork crown, as well as beaded necklaces and other jewelry, and a dhoti tied with a sash below the waist, with two large pierced rectangular tenons projecting either side of the un-gilded upper back.

Honestly, wouldn't probably spend all this money on this no matter how rich I was. I chose these two pieces because of their historic significance, as well as their aesthetic beauty. I believe the price value for these vessels is a very fair value, considering the price is for the pair of vessels, and compared to the rectangular food vessel for example that is valued at $1,000,000 to $1,500,000.

Picture do not quite capture the beauty and meticulousness of this art piece. Up close and in person you can be overwhelmed by it's beauty. I agree with it's price because of it's great condition and the high skill level and intense labor this requires to fabricate by hand. The size is another factor in why it deserves the price it has. If I was a super-wealthy collector of asian art, I would bit on it at $350,000 dollars with the hopes of it increasing in price in the far future.

I don’t know why this Jardinière is that much expensive. I understand that it is hard to make those glazed color. It had to be perfect temperature and technique. It is also precious because it is well preserved. There will be also cultural things like who made and who owned. However, if I was rich who can buy this, I would not buy this pot. There are many artworks that look better than this.
