We can learn to not judge our art, or anything we do, on what others have done. The story says to do what you want to do, and not to try to fix what you do so other's like it better. I say this because my sister is an amazing artist, and I'm not that good, but she always tells me to do my best, and not to try to compare. Ramon learns the same thing I learned, and this is important because it helps him realize ish is just as good as perfect.

He learned that the word "ish" was a simplistic and defined way to describe his work and it works just fine.

Something Ramon learns in this story is to never give up and keep on believing in your work. This is important because it's true in real life and in stories. In general you should believe in your work no matter what as all work is accepted, etc.
