Foolish:
"Gone? What do you mean Willy is gone? Gone where? You mean he went on by himself. You mean he went off to Springfield by himself-to take care of getting the license-(Turns and looks anxiously at Ruth). You mean maybe he didn't want too many people in on the business down there?(Looks at Ruth again, as before) You know Willy got his own ways.(Looks back to Bobo) Maybe you was late yesterday and he just went on down there without you. Maybe-maybe he just got sick. He's somewhere. We got to find him-me and you got to find him. We got to!" (p.128).

Walter and Bobo gave both of their fair share of over $5,000 to Willy the guy that was apparently able to get them the liquor license. Willy took the money and ran, and screwed Bobo and Walter over with the money. Walter should have been prepared for this although he trusted Willy with his money, but instead was swindled and lost a lot of money from a simple investment.

Passionate:
"That's it. There you are. Man say to his woman: I got a dream. His woman say: Eat your eggs. (Sadly, but gaining in power) Man say: I got take hold of this world, baby! And his woman will still say: Eat your eggs and go to work. (Passionately now) Man say: I got to change my life, I'm choking to death, baby! And his woman say-Your eggs is getting cold."(p.33-34).

Walter shows his passion to make a living by comparing it to a negative aspect that is trying to hold him back, or who don't believe in him. Walter wants to start a profitable business, but know one has faith in him including his wife. Walter is very passionate for making a new road in his life, and the belief that he can support for his family and be worry free. Walter wants to take advantage of the good in his life, but everyone is down on him and doesn't believe in him.

Post 3 - Opinion - Walter

My opinion on Walter is that he is a very money hungry person that looks at the best in an opportunity, and not at the obstacles that it will take to fulfill an opportunity. Walter is a good person, but he doesn't think before he commits to something. The whole deal with the liquor store business is a good example of this. I don't really have much sympathy for him because I feel as if his actions split the family up, and cause them to go through tough times. I did feel sympathy when he got screwed over in the liquor business. I do believe he is a good person, but I also believe that his actions make people think otherwise, and that the is reckless.

This piece of art can relate to Walter because of Walter being portrayed throughout the book as a very money hungry person. This picture shows a person looking through binoculars at a pile of money. When Walter had the opportunity to invest into a liquor store, and possibly making a profit, he jumped all over it. He was zoomed in on it, and felt that he needed to invest in this business if he wanted to succeed in life. This picture can also relate to when Walter gets an idea he zooms in on it, and doesn't let anyone get in the path of trying to stop him pursue the idea

This part of the poem can relate to Walter because of him wanting a lot of money to buy his family luxurious things in life, and be financially ahead in life. This part of the poem also talks about it will destroy your life when you don't have enough which Walter can clearly relate to because he is practically going to all lengths to try to get money to provide for his family, and buy them fancy houses in town. Walter does realize at one point in the story that money can't buy happiness, and that his family is his happiness. Walter's money hungry personality also makes other people see him as someone he isn't. His wife also thinks that his money hungry personality is crazy, and it isn't who he is.

Post 7 - Explanation - Walter

These lyrics can relate to Walter because of his need for money to support the family. He needs help on getting money, and he sees it as everyone around doesn't want him to succeed in getting money. In the song it says,"Everything around me is falling down." In Walter's view he relates to this because it seems like every opportunity he gets is shot down, or can't go anywhere. Walter is always in need in money just like the rest of the family, but he acts as if he needs in the most because of his goals and views he feels he can accomplish.

Theme of story: Overcoming racial discrimination

Quote:"I Have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."-Martin Luther King Jr.

This quote from MLK supports this theme because in the real world it doesn't matter what color you are, what religion believe in, or who you are as a person. You should not judge people over their skin color in any way. The characters in "A Raisin In The Sun" are racially discriminated in all different ways that relate to the real world. Hate will bring even more hate, and love will bring even more love. Judging people over their skin color is unacceptable considering you don't know what the person has been through in life, or where they came from. Overall, this story shows how racial discrimination is a huge problem, and that it must be overcame.
