I'm taking part in the short film project on domestic violence because I believe that this is a very important topic that needs to be talked about. I want to give a voice to the victims and show, through cinema, the real impact that domestic violence has on people's lives. This is a way of raising awareness in society and contributing to change.

What's more, this experience represents a unique opportunity for personal and cultural growth. The fact that we can take this project to Turkey is very special to me. It will allow me to represent my country, get to know other cultures and learn from different perspectives.

Through this project, I want to help raise awareness among other people and show that art, such as cinema, can be a powerful way of conveying messages and bringing about change.

In addition, this participation is also a unique opportunity for me, as it will allow me to grow personally and culturally, meet new people and represent my country in Turkey.

I decided to take part in this project because I believe that art, especially cinema, has enormous power to raise awareness and inform people. Domestic violence continues to be a reality for many victims in silence, and I feel that by giving voice to these stories, we are contributing to change.

In addition, this experience will allow me to grow on a personal and cultural level, especially with the opportunity to travel to Turkey, where I will be able to get to know other realities and share ideas with young people from different countries. I'm very grateful for this opportunity and motivated to do my best.

This evil doesn't choose a face, age or social status. It's in the houses next to us, in the hushed voices we meet on the street, in the bodies that learn to shrink to fit into a routine of terror. It can be physical, psychological, emotional, sexual or financial. And in all its forms, it is an abuse of power, an attempt to control, a slow destruction of someone's dignity.

When we presented this topic to the class, we felt the weight and responsibility of giving voice to a subject that is so often kept silent. It was important not only to raise awareness, but also to invite reflection, empathy and action. Sharing this topic in a classroom context helped us realize how present and ignored domestic violence can be, and how essential it is to talk about it openly, especially among young people. The discussion allowed different perspectives to emerge and made it clear that change starts with education and awareness.

In this short film, we look inside this invisible world. Not to romanticize it, but to expose it. To give a voice to those who have been silenced. To show that love doesn't hurt, humiliate or kill.

It's a call to concistent, a mirror of reality and, above all, an invitation to change. Because reporting is an act of courage. Because listening can save a life. Because no one should suffer where they should feel safe.

Domestic violence is a crime. And as long as there is silence, it will continue to grow. May this film be a cry - for those who need help, for those who can help, and for those who can no longer remain silent.

Scene 1 - Appearances can be deceiving (Introduction)

Location: Mafalda and André's apartment. Informal dinner with Marta, Sara and Henrique.

(The scene begins with André serving wine to the guests. Mafalda brings a plate to the table, forcing a smile).

(smiling) I hope you're hungry! Mafalda spent the afternoon preparing this.

MAFALDA

(lowers her gaze) I just wanted to do something special.

MARTA

(smiling) It looks delicious!

(During dinner, André maintains an affectionate posture. He touches Mafalda's hand and strokes her cheek. Everyone laughs at Henrique's joke, but Mafalda looks out of place.)

(quick) Ah... air conditioning. You know how it is.

SARA

(lowering her tone) You're different, Mafalda. If you need to talk...

MAFALDA

(cutting in) It's all right, Sara. Thank you.

(Sara watches as Mafalda walks away, clearly uncomfortable.)

Location 2: Entrance to Mafalda and Marta's building.

(Marta meets Mafalda coming home. As she hugs her, Mafalda subtly shrinks away).

MARTA

(low, worried) Is everything all right?

MAFALDA

(pulling away, forcing a smile) Of course. I'm just tired.

(Marta nods, but realizes the truth.)

Location 3: Bar, André and Henrique drinking beer.

ANDRÉ

(laughing) A woman has to know her place. If not, we'll teach her.

(Henrique hesitates, annoyed.)

HENRIQUE

(nervous) Mafalda's a good person, man... You're talking as if...

ANDRÉ

(interrupting, laughing) Relax, Henrique! It's just men talking.

We had difficulties at various stages of the project. At the beginning, we didn't all know how to turn the idea into a script. It took a lot of group discussions, attempts and restarts to find the right tone - realistic, but without exaggeration; strong, but without falling into unnecessary drama. There were also times when we didn't know how to represent certain emotions or record certain scenes without getting affected. Creating something that touches on such a heavy subject ended up messing with us emotionally, and that was a big hurdle we had to overcome together.

The technical side also brought us challenges: recording in suitable locations, dealing with the sound, repeating scenes several times, controlling the light. All this required patience, teamwork and a lot of dedication.

Using the Insta360 camera for the first time was a great challenge, but also a very enriching experience. We had to learn to deal with a new way of filming, where everything around is captured, which required more planning and attention to detail.

The most striking thing was realizing that the video will be viewed with virtual reality glasses. This makes the experience much more immersive and those watching feel like they are inside the scene, which gives even more strength to the message we want to convey. In the end, it was an incredible opportunity to explore new technologies and give our work more impact

In the end, this project taught us more than any class could. We learned to work as a team, to listen to others, to deal with pressure and, above all, to use our creativity to give a voice to those who are so often silenced. Talking about domestic violence wasn't easy, but it was necessary and today we are proud to have had the courage to do it.

We hope that this short film is not just a story. Let it be a warning, a mirror and, perhaps, a starting point for change.
