His head falls dreamily above the ground when he emerges from the ground after a long winter. The petals are white, delicate, and a recognizable seal is given by a green-yellow dot at the bottom. We can see it in early spring and summer, when it blooms again. It hides in forests, near swamps and in meadows rich in nitrogen. It needs mild daylight and plenty of moisture. It is a herbaceous plant with a white head, which is why the English call it a summer snowflake. It grows in America and Europe. It is a protected species, so you can only look at it, but not read it - you should take a photo of it.

It is one of the first harbingers of spring, blooming in February peeking through the snow. It is 10-15 cm high. It grows in the Americas and Europe. In ancient Greek mythology, the iris is a symbol of the goddess Irida, the messenger of the gods: when her cloak, multicolored like a rainbow, touched the ground, a flower would sprout. The ancient Greeks also believed that the rainbow arose when Irida took off from Olympus. The Croatian name of the iris comes from Slavic mythology, from the supreme god Perun and his wife, the goddess Iris. The people believed that the iris sprouts where the lightning strikes the thunderbolt Perun. The people of Kajkavia knew the goddess Perunika as Ljelja, so they call this flower ljeljuja, while in the Dubrovnik area you can hear the name bogiša, related to this divine flower.
