1) Timetabling has been shambolic. It is an embarrassment to the university.
2) Teaching space allocation: this is probably connected to timetabling (e.g. getting ~40 students for a teaching space that can accommodate 25).
3) Increasing class size. Since the start of Wk2 people have wandered into class and said "I'm new!". This is putting a lot of pressure on physical resources (workstations).

My biggest concern is the time it takes students to get access to Blackboard. I have new students arriving in week 3 and they ask how to catch up. But they don’t have timely access to Blackboard thus it delays this catch up.

Support systems for blended learning students - both social and academic are not clearly co-ordinated and signposted. Additional capacity and tailoring of resources to follow up after induction would make this accessible and build confidence

1. Timetabling - access to it, last minute changes and understanding of it (i.e. knowing building codes and floors). I agree with the comment above which called this a 'shambles'!

The admissions process using the new system and clearing meant that we had no idea how many students were starting. This led to our programme being heavily oversubscribed. As a result the rooms allocated by timetabling were not big enough leading to some students sitting on the floor. This is not conducive for learning and as others have said, does not present a welcoming appearance of our university. Having said that the programme lead and timetabling were quick to respond and managed to move some of the sessions to bigger rooms. This however meant that students timetables were constantly being updated in the first few weeks when they are only just getting used to how to access them.

There were initial problems with timetabling that caused quite a lot of concern for our new first years, we are also teaching all over campus and while this is 'real life' changing the rooms for their sessions every week has been a little traumatic for some students. Having taken many more students than we expected, there were issues of not enough chairs in teaching rooms that also caused some concern.
